Hoses and fittings for trucks and transport

Norden Hydraulic Connections has been involved with the transport industry for around 50 years having started as a truck body builder. Armed with that knowledge the company has expanded its product range to include hoses and fittings suited to the transport industry.

These hoses and fittings are from companies as well known as Eaton, the company that now owns the Weatherhead and Aeroquip brands, and Aflex.

Aflex has an established range of hoses but perhaps the best known is its popular PTFE hose which features a smooth bore inner and convoluted outer, wrapped in a stainless steel braid.

This hose is ideal for truck compressor lines as it features great flexibility together with a high heat range and its smooth bore allows for better fluid movement while the ribbed outer design promotes good flexibility – it can easily bend without breaking.

Weatherhead became part of Eaton in 2002 and has one of the industry’s broadest offerings of truck related hoses, hose ends, assembly equipment, tube fittings, couplings and support accessories.

The range of Weatherhead hoses includes those for high temperature hydraulic uses, air brakes, fuel applications, oil cooler lines, grease and power steering applications. They come in a variety of inner and outer material combinations that include nitrile, steel braid, CPE and neoprene.

Weatherhead’s range for the transport industry also includes brass fittings these are made from high quality UNS-CA360 brass bar which is precision machined to SAE standards. Large uniform wrench pad areas make the ends easy to fit using standard workshop tools.

Aeroquip, manufacturer of hoses and fittings, is best known in the transport industry for its AQP special high temperature cotton covered hose. This cotton outer allows the hose to breath in the extremely hot environments found underbonnet.

Another Aeroquip product range for the transport industry is its socketless hoses and fittings that are simple to assemble as they require no clamps, bands, wires or bolts. The design and special hose construction insures a tight, leak-proof connection with maximum operating pressures of up to 350 psi.

The Aeroquip Socketless range offers options to suit a wide variety of applications with air, water, gasoline, and fuel and lubricating oils.

Socketless hose is available in durable synthetic rubber and polyester braid covers for selective applications requiring abrasion or wear resistance and is colour-coded for identification.
